On May 25, 2020, Derek Chauvin, a police officer, murdered George Floyd, a Black man. His cruel death shocked many people all over the world. Black Americans, especially, were deeply affected by his death. A powerful story about a young woman’s journey of discovery. Trying to wrestle with her outrage and the appropriate outlet for her passion and her need to heard on the issue of police brutality. Her journey turns into a learning experience as she stumbles on people engaged in various forms of protest and community activism. This is a fast-paced book and it held my attention from cover to cover.

This book is a powerful description of a single day in the life of the author, as she makes her way from one protest to another during the Black Lives Matter movement in Atlanta. The account is gripping, and the tension builds, as the author tries to find a protest that adequately expresses her frustration with the treatment of Black people in America. Along the way, she encounters Black and White people with differing perspectives on what should be done. I won't spoil the very meaningful ending by telling it here, but will simply say that I could hardly turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next!
